The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

view banff hotelI don't know if you've ever been to Banff - but if you have you probably have seen or maybe even had the opportunity to stay in the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.  Of all the hotels we stay in when travelling with the board this is my favorite.  The picture you are looking at is the view from my suite - awesome - not going to be hard waking up to that every morning :)  A little history for you all:  It was originally opened in 1888, was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway and used as a railway hotel.  The cost to build it back then was $250,000 and due to a fire in 1926 the original structure is now gone.  Known mainly for its amazing views of the Rocky Mountains, as you can see from my window, it is one of the most amazing hotels to walk through.  The design, the wood craftsmanship, the whole experience is incredible.  I'll take more pictures while I'm here so stay tuned.  The only thing that would make this perfect is if my family could be here to enjoy it with me.

Cheers,
