  For those of you who have been following my blog I felt it was important to tell you that we now have a new microwave - installed - ready for action.  Last week I blogged about my microwave crapping out - typical builders grade Frigidaire - and complaining about being Amish for the week while we waited to pick up the new one.  Not to offend the Amish (though it's probably next to impossible to offend the Amish using the internet) my family was unaccustomed to heating food and beverages by way of the stove. I am shocked to know how often we used our microwave - especially to heat up the morning bottle.
  For those of you that believe we should always spend our purchasing dollars in Canada - I'm sorry to inform you that we bought our microwave at the Best Buy in the States.  It was $200 dollars cheaper - with the Canadian dollar basically at par - no duty - it was a no brainer.  Seriously, why are we expected to pay so much for the same stuff up here; it's crazy.
  Anyway, because of my wife's help - a few new holes in the bottom of our cabinet - the Hislop family is officially cooking with power!
