President PicHere is a little bit about who I am.  I grew up in the construction industry.  My father was a tradesman and eventually a builder.  I spent many weekends working for him, and let me tell you many of my jobs were not glamorous.  My dad always wanted me to get my real estate license so I could sell his product for him.  However, the typical prodigal son, I wanted to choose my path for myself and went to Bible school instead.  In total I spent 2 1/2 years in Bible school, learned a great deal, but in the end I learned that being a pastor was not my calling.

I got married, to the most wonderful woman in the world 11 years ago.  We have 3 amazing children, 2 daughters and a son.  When my oldest daughter was one I decided to change vocations and became a real estate agent.  I think the initial plan was hopefully to make some money, but I've never been guided by money, so really I think I just enjoy working with people and love looking at homes.  In the six years I've been selling real estate I've definitely learned I am not a salesman.  I don't get on the phone and call people every day trying to get them to sell their homes.  I don't tell people what they want to hear just to make a quick sale.  These choices may, over the long run, hurt my bottom line, but I sleep well at night knowing that I would rather facilitate a sale than force a sale.  And I guess in the end that is what I am - a facilitator.  I don't "sell" people on anything, I help them weight the pro's and con's and allow them to make the decision in the end.

As I sit here writing this blog I'm realizing it's not going how I intended.  My original plan was to explain why I'm the right choice when it comes to buying or selling your next home, yet I'm babbling on about anything but.  Anyway...if I was to talk about myself as a real estate agent.  I believe I'm an honest agent, hard working, loyal and current.  I may not always tell you what you want to hear, but I will always tell the truth.  I have never been afraid of working hard.  I enjoy working, my wife may say too much, but I believe people have entrusted me with their largest asset and I don't take that lightly.  Loyalty is a very important quality with me.  I never throw my clients under the bus and I focus all my efforts on getting what works best for them not just a sale.  I pride myself on being current.  I focus a lot of my efforts on internet marketing.  I own 3 different personal websites,www.kylehislopremax.wordpress.comwww.kylehislop.com and www.wackrealestate.com.  Not to mention my advertising efforts on facebook, twitter, linkedin, flickr, craigslist, kijiji, etc.  I take high quality, digitally enhanced photos.  Video tours.  Basically the whole 9 yards.

In the end, I've blogged about this before and I'll say it again, whether you choose to go with me or not please do yourself a favour and interview a few different agents.  We are all very different.  We have different skills, different personalities, different pro's and con's.  We work better and harder when we are competing against each other, so let us compete for your business.

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog, I hope it helps you get to know me a little better.  If you ever want to sit and chat about real estate give me a call.  If you are more comfortable chatting via email that's fine too, drop me a line.
