October 27th, 2010
Larry's BizNow I know what you are thinking - this is my little brother and I'm supposed to support him no matter what.  Well...that's probably true...but with that said, I've seen these guys in action and I can tell you from experience they are awesome.  When you hire Amy Elliott you will definitely get more than just 3 bartenders.  They bring years of experience, custom drink menus, custom bar setup ...

Pics from St. John's

October 24th, 2010
Got to be honest...never knew how far away St. John's is from Vancouver.  I've been to Ottawa and Toronto a number of times and always felt like that is the east coast, couldn't be more wrong.  Another 4 hours in the air and you arrive in St. John's, Newfoundland.  I've been told about all the traditions, and heard about the local culture and it lives up to its reputation.  Below are a coup ...

Dave Chalk - not just a tech guy...but rather an inspiring guy!

October 23rd, 2010
Dave Chalk I have attended many conferences, heard countless keynote speakers and would have to say that Dave Chalk would rank near the top, if not occupy the top all by himself.  He just finished his presentation at the CREA Conference in St. John's.  Now the interesting part is he was speaking about technology yet never once used any technology in his presentation.  100% was simply him speaking, and ...

October 20th, 2010
CADREBtent I am the current president of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board, CADREB, and as president one of my main goals has been showing the public how much REALTORS® care about their community.  We never want to be seen as simply business owners in the community but proud citizens who contribute to the betterment of our city.  We coach soccer teams, teach Sunday school, volunteer our ti ...

Chilliwack tops B&E's list in Province

October 19th, 2010
Block WatchThis is not a fun topic to talk about and it seems writing about it as a REALTOR®, who's main job is promoting a positive city image, feels a bit strange.  However it's a topic that needs to be discussed because as citizens we need to take a little more responsibility in our neighbourhoods.

I received a call yesterday from a police officer about all the break-ins in Chilliwack.  No, I'm ...

House with MONSTER yard - Just in time for Halloween

October 16th, 2010
Spruce Blog picNo, there is no actual monster in this yard, but this home does have a very large backyard - some might say monster backyard.  A traditional size yard in Sardis is usually around 6000 sqft - this yard is over 9,500 sqft.  Fully fenced so the kids and pets can play in safety.  The home itself is a large 2 storey with 4 bedrooms up.  Living room, dining, family, and kitchen on the main floor. ...

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

October 11th, 2010
I hope everyone enjoyed their thanksgiving weekend as much as I did.  Nothing better than spending the weekend with family.  Great food helps a little as well.  I would have to say that the Bears going 4-1 and the Oilers starting the season 2-0 on Sunday made for a great weekend as well.  If you are a Canuck fan...don't worry...I'm sure they are still gonna win the West.
  HAPPY THANKSGIVIN ...

September 2010 - Chilliwack Real Estate Stats

October 7th, 2010
Sept. 2010 StatsHere are the Chilliwack real estate stats for September 2010.  It seems that sales bottomed out in July and over the past 2 months have risen slightly on a seasonally adjusted basis.  Looking back at the numbers from 2009 we are down but the second half of 2009 was an unusual year because we were rebounding from the recession.  Most economists agree that the market will continue to move alo ...

Chilliwack Outdoors

October 4th, 2010
Pic 5One of the best things about living in Chilliwack is being so close to the great outdoors.  My kids and I were a little bored on Sunday and decided we would like to go for a hike.  Within 10 minutes we were on our way up Teapot Hill.  This is a very basic hike, hence the small children, but a great way to get out and see a little nature.  Chilliwack is full of great places to explore.  One ...
